I started Sightline in 2012 after watching a window crew walk off a job in Miami Gardens with the customer’s deposit and no product ordered. That won’t happen here. Haven Clause 1 means the measurement and the quote are the same document you keep, and I review every opening survey before it becomes a work order. I still climb ladders on complex jobs - not because I have to, but because I don’t trust a sightline measurement I haven’t verified myself. Last year I caught a 3/8-inch frame deflection on a Norwood installation that would’ve cost the homeowner $840 in custom trim if we’d ordered standard. I keep a notebook of every job that went sideways and what the fix cost. That’s more useful to me than any review.
Marcus T., Lead Technician
Marcus has been installing impact-rated systems in South Florida since 2009, four years before he joined us. He’s certified in PGT and CGI installation protocols, and he’s the person we send when a job requires structural modifications to the rough opening - something we see regularly in Miami Gardens homes built between 1965 and 1985 with original aluminum frames. Marcus carries a moisture meter on every job and will stop work if he finds rot in the sill that wasn’t visible during survey. Off the truck, he rebuilds vintage motorcycles and applies the same tolerance standards: if the gap is wrong, take it apart.

Elena specializes in custom and geometric windows, the jobs where the unit isn’t rectangular and the flashing has to be field-fabricated. Darnell K., Service Coordinator
Darnell answers the phones and schedules the surveys, but his real job is making sure nothing gets lost between the measurement and the installation. He came to us from a logistics background, not construction, which is exactly why he’s good at this. He tracks every order through manufacturer lead times - PGT and CWS run differently than Therma-Tru, and he knows which SKUs are running 10 weeks versus 4 - and he calls customers before they have to call us. He also handles the free second opinion reviews: bring us a competitor’s written estimate, and Darnell will line-item it against our product specs to show you what’s actually being quoted. He lives in Miami Gardens and coaches youth basketball at Scott Park on Saturdays.
Javier R., Apprentice Installer
Javier joined us in 2023 after completing a construction technology program at Miami Dade College. He’s working toward his full installer certification under Marcus’s supervision and has already completed solo installations on standard vinyl replacement jobs in the Lake Lucerne and Rolling Oaks areas. His current focus is learning to read U-factor and SHGC ratings in context - not just which number is lower, but which performance spec matches which exposure and which customer’s actual priority. Javier documents every job with the photo record protocol, and he’s particular about the sequence: before, rough-opening condition, installed unit with level, and finished trim. He’s the one who noticed that a delivery of ViewLux sliding doors had the wrong jamb depth before we unwrapped it, saving a full day of downtime.
